August 2007

I trust everyone is enjoying the summer holiday season. Fall will be sneaking up shortly though and with that will come school, schedules, the fall market and of course my free monthly seminars! If you haven't been able to make one yet, you should give it a try. They are a great place to catch up, have some snacks, and learn some valuable knowledge in a fun and friendly environment. If you have any topic ideas, requests or know a contact that may be interested in hosting a seminar...drop me a line. I also wanted to Thank you all for your referrals and recomendations. They come with a great sense of pride for me and they are always welcomed in the world of sales. Many Thanks!

Have you heard that up to one in four people have cancer? We have all been touched by Terry Fox's Story of pride, determination, compassion for others and his commitment to set a higher awareness and prove that we can collectively have a positive impact in this world. I am all for believing in dreams and helping others. I personally have more then a handful of friends going through cancer treatments at this moment aging from 12 through 60. If you would love to help with a donation, that is great. I have a goal of raising $500. I have received commitments of up to about $450 so far. A sincere "Thank you" to everyone who has donated. Should any of you decide to join the 10K bike ride with me, please let me know. I am convinced it will be lots of fun and very empowering. You can donate from the line below or mail me a cheque to the Terry Fox Foundation. A donation receipt will be given to anything over $20.00.
Let's work together to end cancer and keep Terry's dream alive. All money raised goes to cancer research; please support my participation by clicking on this link and donating: www.terryfoxrun.org.
With Thanks,
Angela

For a dramatic wall display, mix formal portraits with shots of family on
the beach, your mother laughing in an unguarded moment, or that great but
not-quite-in-focus close up of you on your holiday. Add visual interest with
a label from a memorable bottle of wine, your favourite CD cover, or a
child's painting.
For a cohesive look, keep the frames in a single colour family like black or
silver, but don't limit yourself to frames that all look exactly the same.
Pair thin, elegant frames with thick, dramatic ones in a variety of
materials from wood to metal. Offset a series of rectangles with a circular
frame. Frame pictures with and without mats.
Extra-large pictures add drama. Enlarge a favourite image to poster size and
add it to your photo wall or lean it against the wall for a gallery feel.
Hang Photos in Uncommon Places
Put up a collage of the turquoise waters and white sandy beaches of your
last vacation in the laundry room and do a little dreaming while you're
fluffing and folding. Place pictures above the coat rack to identify each
family member's hook. Mount a series of smaller, related pictures at
mid-height along a wall to create the illusion of a wallpaper-style border.
Use Unique Objects for Frames
Old windows make distinctive frames. Simply place a photo in each pane,
enlarging or cropping the image to fit within the border, and secure it with
photo tape. Photo tape won't harm your photos and is available at art supply
stores.
Mirrors are another unique option. Arrange photos onto the glass with photo
tape, leaving some of the mirror showing between them. The effect is a
light-filled collage that's sure to spark memories and conversations.
Maximize Your Mats
The general rule of thumb for choosing a mat colour is to pair pure white
mats with black and white images, or colour photos with a slightly creamier
shade of white. White mats make black and white images pop while cream mats
emphasize colour. For a blended effect, try matching the colour of the mat
to the colour of your wall.
Other Creative Considerations
- Create a family tree by painting a tree onto a wall and placing small, framed photos on each branch.
- Liven up a child's room with a photo collage of all their friends, or a photo growth chart that includes a small photo with each measurement.
- Use clothespins to hang a series of pictures on a length of wire for a casual display that's easy to change.
- Add a little whimsy with a photo of a public washroom sign on your bathroom door.
When you're decorating with photographs, the possibilities are endless. Your
only limit is your imagination!

Angela demonstrated the personal and professional qualities necessary to
ensure we felt comfortable and confident as we negotiated the sale of
our parents' home. Angela provided well thought out and professional
advice, answered questions promptly, and provided guidance and
assistance. She treated our elderly parents with respect and care. We
are extremely happy with Angela as our agent and would be happy to
recommend her to friends/colleagues who may be looking for an agent.

The referral of your friends and family is the greatest compliment you can give me!
Thank you so much to all of my past clients for making each day a pleasurable one!
Many thanks,
